Giroux Amburn, P.C.

Trade Secret Protection

A trade secret consists of information including a formula, pattern, idea, process or compilation of information that is not generally known or readily ascertainable.

A trade secret must confer some sort of economic benefit to its owner. Most importantly, it must be the subject of reasonable efforts to maintain its secrecy. If properly identified and maintained, a trade secret has an unlimited lifespan.

Giroux Amburn helps clients determine the best plans for protecting proprietary information from improper use by competitors, or past or current employees. Our services include drafting confidentiality agreements and non-compete agreements tailored to cover key employees, vendors, and customers that may develop and/or have access to your sensitive documents and information.

We help clients take steps to identify and implement procedures for protecting trade secret assets.
